Baldwin 02:47
Baldwin ringin’ in my head Tryna push me to the edge Make sure all my friends are dead Til I grab a lil Uzi Pump em all full of lead Gotdamn the propaganda Of another angry Black man Ghosts on my back man Play the game like pac man I’m after all I can for them Flow regal as a kaftan, feet on ottomans Do this for the kids, make it easier for them So me and those before me been sacrificin’ Scaled the walls to attack the titans Shocked ‘em all like a crash of lightnin’ Been preparing through the storm for the calm Pressed pause on the world To hold it in our palm Take it to the hole That’s word to LeBron Goin’ for the gold Til we stand as champions Make history with a new freedom song Lately… Been tired as ever These colonizers don’t seem to know better Civil Rights movement is in a new era Think we still niggers, so time to meet Neter I’m the intersection of God and Truth So I keep in mind what I’m kickin’ to the youth They the pathway to the next generation So epigenetic pain will sign its resignation, Today If I have somethin’ to say about it All the elders, they done prayed about it Our ancestors made a way up out it Children of the sun Gon’ bring a new day around it, yeah Cuz’ resilience courses deep in our veins We gon’ wash away tears of joy in the rain Went and killed our leaders Cuz you thought that would defeat us Let me tell ya... Muthafucka we just gettin warmed up But I won’t let my anger consume me Your ignorance, it does not move me Wanna see my rage like I’m Django unchained Gettin’ even with any Candies & Stephens Puttin’ dirt on my name Nah, you won’t get the satisfaction Feenin’ wit ya hoods out Time for some action Last thing they want’s a united front A self governed diasporic landscape Standing proudly in the face of a system That thought they could bury us We the seeds birthing new age warriors Trust ya pandemonium won’t worry us We gone flourish up Black Excellence is bubblin’! I can hear the drums comin’ in I can feel Egun comin’ in! I can feel Egun comin’ in! Ignorance and power? that’s lethal Time to give more power to the people Time to give more power to the people Time to give more power to the people They tryna make us lose our minds Keep us in a rage all the time So we stand, protest and we march and we fight Stand together on them Black frontlines Ignorance and power? that’s lethal Time to give more power to the people Time to give more power to the people Time to give more power to the people They tryna make us lose our minds Keep us in a rage all the time So we stand, protest and we march and we fight Stand together on them Black frontlines

Nina 03:20
Nina said… How could I not reflect the times? I am a child of of the zeitgeist I’d be remiss to not hold the line Griots before me are fading They either dead Or they sick and tired So who gon’ hold stories Of truths not so self evident In the face of my peoples trials? Young man, old man, shot down Daughter, sister or a mother Slammed to the ground Now my people can’t breathe Cuz they fightin’ for their life In they muthfuckin’ sleep Cuttin short a Black scholar’s dreams After livin’ daily nightmares Can’t even shop, white women Goin’ full Karen On my Black ass Date brothas darker than me Don’t mean you might pass Back off for I go Gandalf Speak a language they might understand Since the cries of oppression of pain Don’t resonate, don’t know how else To make it simple and plain Won’t hesitate to call the cops Hashtags for my name Cuz they see my Black skin as a threat That melanin, I’m as rich as they get So they all want a piece of the strange fruit Swingin’ in the breeze When they can’t aim and shoot My ancestors said they gon’ be right back I’m they wildest dream Ain’t no question I’m gon’ fight back The vibes don’t lie when I lift my fist high If another brother die We gon’ light this shit on fire (that’s no lie) They don’t want peace They just want blood Want us to tap dance But I do the Kanye shrug ‘Merica ain’t been great Tryna make me hate the ones I love Mansa Musa, Shaka Zulu, Malcolm X They the plugs, that’s what’s up Nina said... What’s freedom? No fear. I felt that... So be clear 2020 Breonna swore this was her year We should be runnin wit’ Ahmaud Not for him Why’s death the reason The world saw George Floyd? Sean Reed to Sean Bell Been livin’ in Hell Indoctrination had as all fall Under the spell In the land of deceit Home of the depraved 150 years later, reconfigured the slave Billionaire status Still a nigger in the eyes Of those in blue wit’ badges Then they wonder why we bare arms It’s The Hate that U Gave to our babies Killed their dads, left their mom’s to go crazy Systematic deconstruction of a people Freedom gon’ ring, our Sankofa gon’ see you My ancestors said they gon’ be right back I’m they wildest dream Ain’t no question I’m gon’ fight back The vibes don’t lie when I lift my fist high If another brother die We gon’ light this shit on fire (that’s no lie) They don’t want peace They just want blood Want us to tap dance But I do the Kanye shrug ‘Merica ain’t been great Tryna make me hate the ones I love Mansa Musa, Shaka Zulu, Malcolm X They the plugs, that’s what’s up

Malcolm 02:53
Tighten up the stronghold on your story By any means On the road to truth and justice You can’t let ya guard down for a second Remember that your mind’s a deadly weapon Afrikan, this is the check in The closer you get to knowin’ yaself The closer you get to knowin’ ya blessings The dominant narrative, man, it ain’t havin’ it So to yourself and to your people Be the biggest advocate No need for magic tricks You’re far from average That’s why the war’s an ongoing one If you ain’t careful, they’ll make your Biggest enemy out to be Your brother or your son Really any given loved one The road’s a long one The journey’s only begun But allow me to walk beside you We can lead the way together Let your heart, spirit & knowledge guide you And trust and believe the evil forces Won’t divide you Only wantin’ the best for them Though it might be the death of me Our downfall, they invested in So I’m gon’ fight with what’s left of me Freedom calls and I’m answerin’ Cuz peace lies in the depths of it Truth is all that I’m livin’ in Won’t let their lies get the best of me It’s time to prepare for the future Be unapologetically the Blackest human being you could be That don’t mean the characters You see on TV screens Or movie scenes crafted through the lens Of eyes never meant to truly see You in mind in any conversation of humanity Our social landscape is pure insanity Egotistic, disconnected vanity Racism, sexism, exploiting Of Black & Brown People’s From their bodies to their labor For Liberty, our self love & trust’s A healthy wager, bet on Black Matter fact … We can leave that whole identity alone Since it serves as a way to disconnect from our journey home Never let ‘em see you sweat You stand on the backs of giants A Godly alliance To put the trauma to an end You can never forget To change history Truth sides with the oppressed Only wantin’ the best for them Though it might be the death of me Our downfall, they invested in So I’m gon’ fight with what’s left of me Freedom calls and I’m answerin’ cuz peace lies in the depths of it Truth is all that I’m livin’ in Won’t let their lies get the best of me

Rise up all you mighty people It’s time to come together now Cover your brothers, sisters Fathers and mothers Revolution’s comin’ round Time to define what’s equal Primed more than ever To fight the forces of evil Won’t ever let them try to infiltrate again Anytime they fakin’ peaceful Fell for the okie doke for long enough Faith in the system, time to hang up Faith in the village, time to build it up Everything we stand on’s built wit’ our blood So it’s only right we stand strong With our divine people in a Kingdom of Love You feel that? There’s a war outside Stand proud, don’t go blind with pride God’s will stands on our side Truth in the flesh Laws of the spirit be the guide Let the U-N-I-T be the reason why We don’t have to see more of our people die At the hands of the morally corrupt See heaven in ya melanin & In your inner God, trust (What’s the plan?) The blood, the people, the land (What’s the plan?) The blood, the people, the land (What’s the plan?) The blood, the people, the land (What’s the plan?) about

Amidst a global pandemic and the largest Civil Rights Movement in history, PATH continues to stand committed to speaking to the nature of the times in his music. While under quarantine, PATH has worked on honing his music production skills while staying abreast of the racial and social violence, police brutality & discriminations taking place across the country - a social actuality that is anything but brand new to the U.S. American landscape - which informed the decision to create a new EP, "Black 1derland" to speak on these issues the best way he knows how: through his artistry.

Each track is labeled by the influence of different leaders and voices of the Civil Rights and Black Liberation movements: James Baldwin, Nina Simone, Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey. “Baldwin” is the high energy opening track flanked at the end with a resounding protest, but PATH’s opening bars to track 2, “Nina” - "Nina said... How can I not reflect the times? I am a child of the zeitgeist, I'd be remiss to not hold the line" - essentially sets the tone for what the project as a whole serves to the social climate, amidst a haunting production. “Malcolm” stays mindful and honest about the importance of self identity, love and preservation of Blackness (or even deeper, African-ness), while “Garvey” closes out the project to deliver a roadmap of moving forward as a result of those similar reflections in Malcolm.

"This is a lane I’ve been comfortable and uncomfortable in, all at once, for a long time; comfortable in that I’m at home in being a space for conversations about revolutionary mindset, empowerment and awareness of the human condition of Black people on U.S. soil and across the diaspora. Uncomfortable in that this is still a conversation that needs to be had 150 years and counting since the physical end of chattel slavery. But the saga continues, and the art will continue to tell the story until it can’t. This is my life’s work." - PATH P
